The Beach Boys are an American rock band formed in Hawthorne, California, in 1961. The group's original lineup consisted of brothers Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and their friend Al Jardine. The Beach Boys are known for their close vocal harmonies and lyrics reflecting a Southern California youth culture of surfing, cars, and romance.


The band gained popularity in the 1960s with hits such as "Surfin' USA," "California Girls," and "Good Vibrations." They are considered one of the most influential acts of the rock era and have sold over 100 million records worldwide. The Beach Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and continue to perform with various lineups, carrying on their legacy as one of the most iconic bands in music history.
