They are best known for their intricate vocal harmonies and lyrics reflecting a Southern California youth culture of surfing, cars, and romance.

The Beach Boys achieved their greatest commercial success in the 1960s with hits like "Surfin' USA," "California Girls," and "Good Vibrations." Their 1966 album "Pet Sounds" is widely regarded as one of the greatest albums in the history of popular music.
