The Blue-Belles were an American girl group formed in the early 1960s. The group consisted of members Patti LaBelle, Cindy Birdsong, Nona Hendryx, and Sarah Dash. They were known for their soulful harmonies and energetic performances. The Blue-Belles gained popularity with their hit singles such as "I Sold My Heart to the Junkman" and "You'll Never Walk Alone."
In 1967, Cindy Birdsong left the group to join The Supremes, and the remaining members rebranded themselves as Labelle. Under their new name, Labelle achieved even greater success with hits like "Lady Marmalade." The Blue-Belles were pioneers in the girl group genre and made significant contributions to the music industry during their time together.
