Artist Bio:
The Bobbettes were an American girl group formed in 1955 in Harlem, New York. The group originally consisted of five members: Jannie Pought, Emma Pought, Reather Dixon, Laura Webb, and Helen Gathers. They are best known for their hit song "Mr. Lee," which was released in 1957 and reached number six on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was a playful and catchy tune that showcased the group's harmonies and vocal talents.

The Bobbettes were one of the first successful girl groups in the early days of rock and roll, paving the way for future female vocal groups. They continued to release music throughout the 1960s, but were unable to replicate the success of "Mr. Lee." Despite this, the group's influence on the girl group genre was significant, and their music remains popular among fans of 1950s and 1960s music.
