Artist Bio:
The Box Tops were an American rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee in 1967. They are best known for their hit single "The Letter," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1967. The band was fronted by lead singer Alex Chilton and featured a mix of rock, pop, and blue-eyed soul in their music.

The Box Tops released several other successful singles in the late 1960s, including "Cry Like a Baby" and "Soul Deep." Despite their relatively short-lived career, the band left a lasting impact on the music industry and is considered a classic example of the blue-eyed soul genre. The Box Tops were inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame in 2018 to honor their contributions to the local music scene and the broader music landscape.
