The original members of the band included Jan Kincaid, Simon Bartholomew, and Andrew Levy, with N'Dea Davenport as the lead vocalist. They released their self-titled debut album in 1990, which featured hits like "Never Stop" and "Dream Come True".

Over the years, The Brand New Heavies have undergone changes in their lineup and musical direction, but they have continued to release music and perform live.
