The Browns were an American country and folk music trio consisting of siblings Maxine, Bonnie, and Jim Ed Brown. They had their biggest success in the 1950s and 1960s, with hit songs such as "The Three Bells" and "Scarlet Ribbons." The group was known for their tight harmonies and heartfelt performances, which helped them achieve commercial success and earn a loyal fan base.
Jim Ed Brown was the younger brother of Maxine and Bonnie Brown and joined the group as a vocalist in the mid-1950s. He became the lead singer of The Browns and helped them transition from a folk to a country sound. After the group disbanded in the 1960s, Jim Ed Brown continued his career as a solo artist, scoring hits with songs like "Pop a Top" and "Morning." He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2015 for his contributions to the genre.
