Artist Bio:
The Browns were a family musical group composed of siblings Jim Ed Brown, Maxine Brown, and Bonnie Brown. They were active from the 1950s to the 1970s and were known for their close harmonies and country music sound. The Browns achieved commercial success in the late 1950s and early 1960s, with hits such as "The Three Bells" and "Scarlet Ribbons (For Her Hair)." These songs crossed over to the pop charts as well, making them one of the few country acts to achieve mainstream success during that era.
The group disbanded in 1967, after which Jim Ed Brown pursued a solo career while Maxine and Bonnie pursued separate endeavors. The Browns were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2015, in recognition of their contributions to country music and their influence on subsequent generations of artists.
