Artist Bio:
The Byrds were an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1964. They are considered one of the most influential bands of the 1960s and were pioneers of the folk rock and psychedelic rock genres. The original lineup consisted of Jim McGuinn, Gene Clark, David Crosby, Chris Hillman, and Michael Clarke. They are best known for their jangly guitar sound, close harmony singing, and innovative use of electric 12-string guitars.

The Byrds achieved commercial success with their cover of Bob Dylan's "Mr. Tambourine Man" in 1965, which became a hit single and helped popularize folk rock. They went on to release a string of successful albums, including "Turn! Turn! Turn!" and "Fifth Dimension." The band underwent various lineup changes over the years, with McGuinn being the only consistent member throughout their existence. The Byrds were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991.
