Artist Bio:
The Byrds were an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1964. They were pioneers of the folk rock genre and are known for their distinctive vocal harmonies and jangly 12-string guitar sound. The original lineup consisted of Jim McGuinn, David Crosby, Gene Clark, Chris Hillman, and Michael Clarke. They gained fame with their cover of Bob Dylan's "Mr. Tambourine Man" and went on to release influential albums such as "Turn! Turn! Turn!" and "Fifth Dimension."

The Byrds are also credited with popularizing the use of the electric 12-string guitar in rock music. Their music was characterized by a blend of folk, rock, and psychedelic elements. The band went through several lineup changes over the years and eventually disbanded in 1973. Despite their relatively short career, The Byrds left a lasting impact on the music industry and are considered one of the most important and influential bands of the 1960s.
