The Cadillacs were an American R&B group formed in Harlem, New York, in 1953. They were known for their tight harmonies and energetic performances, blending elements of doo-wop, rock and roll, and rhythm and blues. The original members of the group were Earl "Speedo" Carroll, Bobby Phillips, Lavern Drake, and Gus Willingham.


The Cadillacs rose to fame in the 1950s with hits like "Speedoo" and "Gloria," which became classics of the doo-wop genre. They were known for their flashy style and choreographed dance moves, earning them a reputation as one of the most dynamic vocal groups of their time. The Cadillacs continued to perform and record music throughout the 1960s and beyond, leaving a lasting impact on the history of R&B and doo-wop music.
