Artist Bio:
The Capitols were an American soul and R&B vocal group formed in Detroit, Michigan, in 1962. The group consisted of lead vocalist and drummer Sam George, guitarist Donald Storball, and keyboardist Richard Mitchell. They are best known for their hit single "Cool Jerk," which was released in 1966 and reached #2 on the Billboard R&B chart and #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song has since become a classic and has been covered by numerous artists.

Despite the success of "Cool Jerk," The Capitols were unable to replicate the same level of success with their subsequent releases. The group eventually disbanded in the late 1960s. However, their legacy lives on through their iconic hit song, which continues to be celebrated and remembered as a staple of 1960s soul music.
