Artist Bio:
The Cars were an American rock band formed in Boston in 1976. The group consisted of Ric Ocasek (vocals, rhythm guitar), Benjamin Orr (bass, vocals), Elliot Easton (lead guitar), Greg Hawkes (keyboards), and David Robinson (drums). The band's music blended new wave, pop, and rock elements, creating a distinctive sound that helped them achieve commercial success in the late 1970s and 1980s.
The Cars released their self-titled debut album in 1978, which included hits like "Just What I Needed" and "My Best Friend's Girl." They went on to release several successful albums, including "Candy-O" (1979), "Panorama" (1980), and "Heartbeat City" (1984). The Cars disbanded in 1988, but their influence on the music industry continues to be felt, with their songs still receiving radio airplay and their sound inspiring many contemporary artists.
