Artist Bio:
The Cars were an American rock band formed in Boston in 1976. The band consisted of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Ric Ocasek, lead guitarist Elliot Easton, keyboardist Greg Hawkes, bassist Benjamin Orr, and drummer David Robinson. They were known for their combination of new wave and rock music, creating a unique sound that helped them achieve commercial success.


The Cars released several hit singles throughout the late 1970s and 1980s, including "Just What I Needed," "My Best Friend's Girl," and "Drive." Their self-titled debut album, released in 1978, was a major success and is considered one of the defining albums of the new wave genre. The band continued to release successful albums and singles throughout the 1980s before disbanding in 1988. The Cars were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.
