Artist Bio:
The Cars were an American rock band formed in Boston in 1976. The band consisted of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Ric Ocasek, lead guitarist Elliot Easton, keyboardist Greg Hawkes, bassist Benjamin Orr, and drummer David Robinson. They were known for their blend of new wave and rock music, with catchy melodies and innovative music videos.


The Cars achieved commercial success with their self-titled debut album in 1978, which included hit singles like "Just What I Needed" and "My Best Friend's Girl." They went on to release several more successful albums throughout the 1980s, including "Candy-O" and "Heartbeat City." The band disbanded in 1988, but their music continues to be celebrated for its unique sound and influence on the new wave genre.
