The Charmettes are best known for their hit song "Please Uncle Sam," which was released in 1962 and reached #38 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The group had a sound that blended doo-wop and R&B, and they were known for their tight harmonies and energetic performances. Despite their talent and the success of "Please Uncle Sam," The Charmettes did not achieve the same level of success as some of their contemporaries.
