The Chimes were a British dance-pop trio formed in the late 1980s. The group consisted of vocalist Pauline Henry, Mike Peden, and James Locke. They achieved commercial success with their cover of U2's song "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," which reached the top ten of the UK Singles Chart in 1990.
Their debut album, also titled "The Chimes," was released in 1990 and featured a mix of dance-pop and soul music. The album spawned several hit singles, including "Heaven" and "1-2-3," which also charted in the UK. Despite their initial success, The Chimes disbanded in the early 1990s. Pauline Henry went on to have a successful solo career in the music industry, while Mike Peden continued to work as a producer and musician.
