Artist Bio:
The Chordettes were an American female vocal group that formed in 1946 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. The original members of the group were Janet Ertel, Carol Buschmann, Dorothy Schwartz, and Jinny Osborn. They are best known for their close-harmony singing style and their hit songs such as "Mr. Sandman" and "Lollipop." The group's popularity peaked in the 1950s and 1960s, during which they achieved several chart-topping hits and appeared on television shows like "The Ed Sullivan Show" and "American Bandstand."

The Chordettes disbanded in 1961 but left a lasting legacy in the world of music. Their songs continue to be popular and are considered classics of the doo-wop and traditional pop genres. The group was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001 in recognition of their contributions to the music industry.
