Artist Bio:
The Coasters were an American rhythm and blues/rock and roll vocal group that was formed in Los Angeles, California in 1955. The group consisted of members Carl Gardner, Bobby Nunn, Billy Guy, and Leon Hughes. They were known for their humorous and witty lyrics, as well as their energetic and danceable music.

The Coasters achieved commercial success in the late 1950s and early 1960s with hits such as "Yakety Yak," "Charlie Brown," and "Poison Ivy." They were one of the few artists of the time who were able to successfully crossover from the rhythm and blues charts to the pop charts. The Coasters were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, recognizing their significant contributions to the genre.
