The Coasters were an American rhythm and blues and rock and roll vocal group that was formed in Los Angeles, California in 1955. The group had a string of hits in the late 1950s and early 1960s, known for their humorous and catchy songs. Their biggest hits included "Yakety Yak," "Charlie Brown," and "Poison Ivy."


The Coasters were known for their unique vocal harmonies and witty lyrics, often telling stories through their songs. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999. The group's influence on popular music can still be heard today, and their songs continue to be celebrated for their timeless appeal and energetic performances.
