Artist Bio:
The Coasters were an American rhythm and blues and rock and roll vocal group that was formed in Los Angeles, California in 1955. The group consisted of members Carl Gardner, Billy Guy, Bobby Nunn, Leon Hughes, and later additions such as Cornell Gunter and Will "Dub" Jones. The Coasters were known for their humorous and catchy songs that often featured clever lyrics and storytelling.


During the late 1950s and early 1960s, The Coasters achieved commercial success with hits like "Yakety Yak," "Charlie Brown," and "Poison Ivy." These songs were characterized by their playful and witty lyrics, which set them apart from other vocal groups of the time. The Coasters were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 and their music continues to be celebrated for its innovative blend of rhythm and blues with comedic storytelling.
