The Coasters were an American rhythm and blues and rock and roll vocal group that formed in Los Angeles in 1955. The original members were Carl Gardner, Billy Guy, Bobby Nunn, Leon Hughes, and Adolph Jacobs. They were known for their humorous and catchy songs that often featured playful lyrics and vocal harmonies. The Coasters achieved commercial success with hits such as "Yakety Yak," "Charlie Brown," and "Poison Ivy."


The Coasters were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. Their music continues to be influential in the genres of doo-wop, rock and roll, and rhythm and blues. The group's legacy lives on through their recordings and performances, showcasing their unique blend of humor and musical talent.
