The original members were Carl Gardner, Billy Guy, Bobby Nunn, Leon Hughes, and Adolph Jacobs. The Coasters achieved commercial success with hits such as "Yakety Yak," "Charlie Brown," and "Poison Ivy."
The Coasters were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. Their music continues to be influential in the genres of doo-wop, rock and roll, and rhythm and blues.
