Artist Bio:
The Coasters were an American rhythm and blues/rock and roll vocal group that was formed in Los Angeles, California in 1955. The original members of the group were Carl Gardner, Billy Guy, Bobby Nunn, and Leon Hughes. They were known for their humorous and catchy songs that often featured clever wordplay and storytelling.


The Coasters achieved commercial success in the late 1950s and early 1960s with hits such as "Yakety Yak," "Charlie Brown," "Poison Ivy," and "Searchin'." Their songs were characterized by their upbeat tempo, doo-wop harmonies, and playful lyrics. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 and their music continues to be celebrated for its influence on the development of rock and roll and rhythm and blues.
