Artist Bio:
The Communards were a British pop duo formed in 1985 by singer Jimmy Somerville and musician Richard Coles. They were known for their unique blend of synthpop and dance music, as well as their strong political and social messages in their songs. The duo achieved commercial success with their self-titled debut album, which included the hit singles "Don't Leave Me This Way" and "Never Can Say Goodbye."

Their music often featured Somerville's distinctive falsetto vocals and Coles' skillful keyboard arrangements. The Communards disbanded in 1988, with both members pursuing solo careers in music and other creative endeavors. Despite their relatively short time together, The Communards left a lasting impact on the pop music scene of the 1980s and are remembered for their energetic performances and thought-provoking lyrics.
