Artist Bio:
The Crests were an American doo-wop group formed in the mid-1950s. They are best known for their hit song "16 Candles," which was released in 1958 and became a classic of the doo-wop genre. The group's lineup included lead vocalist Johnny Mastrangelo, who went by the stage name Johnny Maestro. Maestro's smooth tenor voice was a defining feature of The Crests' sound, and he later went on to have a successful career as a solo artist and with other groups.

In the 2000s, Johnny Maestro reunited with some of the original members of The Crests and began performing under the name The Crests featuring Johnny Maestro. The group continued to tour and perform, keeping the legacy of The Crests' music alive for new generations of fans. Johnny Maestro passed away in 2010, but his contributions to the doo-wop genre with The Crests remain influential and cherished by many.
