Artist Bio:
The Crests were an American doo-wop group formed in the mid-1950s in New York City. They are best known for their hit song "16 Candles," which was released in 1958 and reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The group was led by lead vocalist Johnny Maestro and included members such as Talmadge "Tommy" Gough, Harold Torres, and J.T. Carter.

The Crests were one of the first interracial groups in the doo-wop genre, with African American, Puerto Rican, and Italian American members. They had several other hits in the late 1950s and early 1960s, including "Step by Step" and "The Angels Listened In." The group disbanded in the mid-1960s, but their music continues to be celebrated for its smooth harmonies and nostalgic charm.
