Artist Bio:
The Crests were an American doo-wop group formed in the mid-1950s in New York City. The group was known for their smooth harmonies and romantic ballads, which helped them achieve success in the early days of rock and roll. The original members of The Crests were J.T. Carter, Talmadge Gough, Harold Torres, Patricia Vandross, and Patricia's brother, Juan Guitierrez.

One of their most famous songs, "Sixteen Candles," was released in 1958 and became a major hit, reaching number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Crests continued to produce music throughout the 1960s, but faced challenges such as lineup changes and shifting musical trends. Despite these obstacles, The Crests left a lasting impact on the doo-wop genre and are remembered as one of the pioneering groups of the era.
