The Cryan' Shames were an American rock band formed in Hinsdale, Illinois in 1966. They were part of the 1960s garage rock and psychedelic rock scene, known for their catchy melodies and harmonies. The band's original lineup consisted of Tom Doody, Gerry Stone, Dave Purple, Jim Fairs, and Lenny Kerley.


The Cryan' Shames released several albums during the 1960s, including "Sugar and Spice" (1966) and "A Scratch in the Sky" (1967). They achieved moderate success with songs like "Sugar and Spice" and "It Could Be We're in Love." The band's sound was influenced by British Invasion bands like The Beatles and The Byrds. The Cryan' Shames disbanded in the early 1970s but have reunited for occasional performances over the years.
