Artist Bio:
The Crystals were an American girl group formed in 1961. They were one of the most successful groups of the early 1960s and were known for their soulful harmonies and catchy pop tunes. The group was originally based in New York City and was led by singer Barbara Alston.
Their most famous songs include "Da Doo Ron Ron," "Then He Kissed Me," and "He's a Rebel." The Crystals were produced by Phil Spector and were part of the "girl group" sound that dominated the charts during the early 1960s. Despite various lineup changes over the years, The Crystals continued to perform and record music until the late 1960s. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011.
