The Cure is an English rock band formed in 1976 in Crawley, West Sussex. The band's original lineup consisted of lead vocalist and guitarist Robert Smith, bassist Michael Dempsey, and drummer Lol Tolhurst. Over the years, the band's lineup has seen several changes, with Smith being the only constant member.


The Cure is known for their unique blend of post-punk and gothic rock music, characterized by Smith's distinctive voice, introspective lyrics, and atmospheric soundscapes. Some of their most well-known songs include "Boys Don't Cry," "Just Like Heaven," and "Lovesong." The band has released over a dozen studio albums, with their most successful album, "Disintegration," being released in 1989.
