The Dave Clark Five was a British rock band that was formed in Tottenham, London in 1957. The band consisted of Dave Clark on drums, Mike Smith on vocals and keyboards, Lenny Davidson on guitar, Denis Payton on saxophone, and Rick Huxley on bass. They were one of the leading British Invasion bands of the 1960s, alongside The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.
The Dave Clark Five achieved widespread success with hits such as "Glad All Over," "Bits and Pieces," and "Catch Us If You Can." They were known for their energetic performances and were one of the few bands of the era to write their own songs. The band disbanded in 1970 after a successful run, with Dave Clark going on to have a successful career as a music executive and producer.
