The Dave Clark Five was a British rock band that achieved worldwide fame in the 1960s. The group was formed in Tottenham, London in 1957, and was led by drummer and bandleader Dave Clark. The band consisted of four other members: Mike Smith (keyboard and vocals), Lenny Davidson (guitar), Rick Huxley (bass guitar), and Denis Payton (saxophone and harmonica).
The Dave Clark Five gained popularity with hits such as "Glad All Over," "Bits and Pieces," and "Catch Us If You Can." They were known for their energetic live performances and were part of the British Invasion that swept the United States in the mid-1960s. The band enjoyed success on both sides of the Atlantic, with a total of 17 top 40 hits in the UK and 24 in the US. The Dave Clark Five were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.
