The Dave Clark Five was a British rock band that gained popularity in the 1960s. The band was formed in 1957 in Tottenham, London, and was led by drummer and founder Dave Clark. The other members of the group included Mike Smith (keyboardist and lead vocalist), Lenny Davidson (guitarist), Rick Huxley (bassist), and Denis Payton (saxophonist).
The Dave Clark Five achieved commercial success with hits such as "Glad All Over," "Bits and Pieces," and "Catch Us If You Can." They were known for their energetic live performances and were considered one of the leading British Invasion bands alongside The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. The band disbanded in 1970 after a successful career that included multiple chart-topping singles and albums. The Dave Clark Five was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.
