Artist Bio:
The De Franco Family was a pop music group formed in the 1970s consisting of siblings Tony, Benny, Marisa, Nino, and Merlina De Franco. They were discovered by record producer Jeff Barry and signed to 20th Century Records. Their music style was a blend of bubblegum pop and soft rock, and they achieved success with their hit single "Heartbeat, It's a Lovebeat" in 1973, which reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The De Franco Family released three studio albums between 1973 and 1974, including their self-titled debut album. They toured extensively and made appearances on popular television shows like "American Bandstand" and "The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour." Despite their initial success, the group disbanded in 1977 after their popularity declined. Today, The De Franco Family is remembered as a one-hit wonder of the 1970s music scene.
