The DeFranco Family featuring Tony DeFranco was a pop music group formed in the 1970s. The family band consisted of siblings Tony, Marisa, Nino, Merlina, and Carmen DeFranco. Tony DeFranco was the lead singer of the group and gained popularity for his distinctive voice.


The DeFranco Family's most famous hit was "Heartbeat - It's a Lovebeat," which reached the top of the charts in 1973. The song was a success in both the United States and Canada, earning the group a gold record. Despite their initial success, The DeFranco Family disbanded in the late 1970s. Tony DeFranco continued to pursue a solo career in music following the breakup of the group.
