Artist Bio:
The Delacardos were an American doo-wop group from New York City formed in the early 1960s. The group consisted of members Tony Passalaqua, Tony Amato, Frank Amato, and Frank DiVito. They are best known for their single "Hold Back the Tears," which was released in 1966 and reached number 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Delacardos were signed to the Madison label, a subsidiary of the Roulette Records, and later released a few more singles, but none achieved the same level of success as their debut.
Despite their limited commercial success, The Delacardos are remembered as a talented vocal group with a classic doo-wop sound. Their music continues to be appreciated by fans of the genre and collectors of 1960s pop music. The group disbanded in the late 1960s, but their music lives on through compilations and oldies radio stations.
