Artist Bio:
The Dells were an American R&B vocal group formed in 1952 in Harvey, Illinois. The group consisted of lead singer Marvin Junior, Mickey McGill, Verne Allison, Chuck Barksdale, and Johnny Funches. They were known for their tight vocal harmonies and emotionally powerful ballads. The Dells achieved their greatest success in the 1960s and 1970s with hits like "Oh, What a Night," "Stay in My Corner," and "The Love We Had (Stays on My Mind)."


The Dells were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004 as well. They were highly influential in the development of R&B and soul music, and their music continues to be celebrated for its timeless quality and emotional depth. The Dells remained active in the music industry for over five decades before disbanding in 2012.
