Artist Bio:
The Dells were an American R&B vocal group formed in 1952 in Harvey, Illinois. The group originally consisted of members Marvin Junior, Verne Allison, Johnny Funches, Chuck Barksdale, Michael McGill, and Lucius McGill. They were known for their harmonies and vocal abilities, often categorized as doo-wop and soul music. The Dells achieved their greatest success in the 1960s and 1970s with hits like "Oh What a Night," "Stay in My Corner," and "The Love We Had Stays on My Mind."
The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004. The Dells continued to perform and record music for over five decades, earning a reputation as one of the longest-standing R&B groups in music history. Tragically, Marvin Junior passed away in 2013, but the legacy of The Dells lives on through their timeless music.
