The Dells were an American R&B vocal group formed in 1952 in Harvey, Illinois. The group originally consisted of Marvin Junior, Verne Allison, Johnny Funches, Chuck Barksdale, and Mickey and Lucius McGill. They were known for their close harmonies and smooth, soulful sound, which helped them achieve success in the music industry.
Throughout their career, The Dells released numerous hit songs, including "Oh, What a Night," "Stay in My Corner," and "The Love We Had (Stays on My Mind)." They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and are considered one of the finest and longest-tenured R&B groups in music history.
