The Dells were an American R&B and doo-wop vocal group formed in 1952 in Harvey, Illinois. The group originally consisted of members Marvin Junior, Verne Allison, Johnny Funches, Chuck Barksdale, and Mickey McGill. They were known for their smooth harmonies and emotional vocal delivery, which helped them achieve success in the music industry.


The Dells had several hits throughout their career, including "Oh, What a Night," "Stay in My Corner," and "The Love We Had (Stays on My Mind)." They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and were one of the longest-running vocal groups in music history, with a career spanning over five decades. The Dells' music continues to be celebrated and influential in the R&B genre.
