The Dells were an American R&B and doo-wop vocal group formed in 1952 in Harvey, Illinois. The group originally consisted of Marvin Junior, Verne Allison, Johnny Funches, Chuck Barksdale, Mickey McGill, and Johnny Carter. They were known for their smooth harmonies and emotional vocal delivery, which helped them achieve success in the 1960s and 1970s.


The Dells released several hit songs, including "Oh, What a Night," "Stay in My Corner," and "The Love We Had (Stays on My Mind)." They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, recognizing their contributions to the genre.
