Artist Bio:
The Dixie Cups were an American all-female pop group that formed in New Orleans in the early 1960s. The group consisted of sisters Barbara Ann and Rosa Lee Hawkins, along with their cousin Joan Marie Johnson. They are best known for their hit songs "Chapel of Love" and "Iko Iko," both of which achieved commercial success and became signature songs for the group. "Chapel of Love" reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1964, making The Dixie Cups the first African-American girl group to achieve this feat. Their music is characterized by their harmonious vocals and catchy melodies, which helped solidify their place in the pop music landscape of the 1960s.

The Dixie Cups were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2002 in recognition of their contributions to the music industry. Despite experiencing some lineup changes over the years, the group continued to perform and record music, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of pop music.
