The Dixie Cups were an American pop music girl group that formed in New Orleans in 1963. The group consisted of sisters Barbara Ann and Rosa Lee Hawkins, and their cousin Joan Marie Johnson. They are best known for their 1964 hit song "Chapel of Love," which peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was a major success and has since become a classic of the girl group genre.


The Dixie Cups continued to release music throughout the 1960s, with other notable songs including "People Say" and "You Should Have Seen the Way He Looked at Me." They were inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2007. The Dixie Cups' harmonious vocals and catchy tunes have left a lasting impact on the music industry, solidifying their place in the history of pop music.
