The Dixie Cups were one of the few African-American girl groups to achieve mainstream success during the 1960s. They were inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2007 and continue to perform occasionally at oldies shows and music festivals. The group's harmonious sound and infectious tunes have solidified their place in music history as icons of the girl group era.
