The Doobie Brothers achieved mainstream success in the 1970s with hit songs like "Listen to the Music," "Black Water," and "What a Fool Believes," which won a Grammy Award for Record of the Year in 1980.


Over the years, the band has undergone various lineup changes, but founding members Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons have remained consistent members. The Doobie Brothers were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.
