The Doobie Brothers are an American rock band formed in 1970 in San Jose, California. The band has undergone several lineup changes throughout the years, with founding members Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons being the only constant members. The band's music incorporates elements of rock, folk, country, and R&B, and they are best known for their hit songs such as "Listen to the Music," "Black Water," and "What a Fool Believes."


The Doobie Brothers have released over a dozen studio albums, with their most successful being "Toulouse Street" (1972) and "The Captain and Me" (1973). They have sold over 40 million records worldwide and have been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards. The band was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.
