The Drifters featuring Clyde McPhatter and Bill Pinkney were an American R&B vocal group that was formed in 1953. Clyde McPhatter was the lead vocalist of the group from its inception until 1954, when he left to pursue a solo career. Bill Pinkney joined the group in 1953 and remained a member until 1958. The group is known for their smooth harmonies and soulful sound that helped define the early R&B and doo-wop music of the 1950s.


During their time together, The Drifters featuring Clyde McPhatter and Bill Pinkney released several hit songs, including "Money Honey" and "Such a Night." Their music had a significant influence on the development of rock and roll and soul music.
