Artist Bio:
The Elgins were an American vocal group who achieved success in the 1960s. The group was formed in Detroit, Michigan, in the early 1960s and originally consisted of members Johnny Dawson, Cleo "Duke" Miller, Norman McLean, and Robert Fleming. They were signed to the Motown record label and released their debut single, "Darling Baby," in 1965. The song became a hit, reaching the top 10 on the Billboard R&B chart.
In 1966, The Elgins achieved their biggest success with the release of the single "Heaven Must Have Sent You," which reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The group continued to release music throughout the 1960s but never quite matched the success of their hit single. Despite their relatively short career, The Elgins are remembered as one of the notable vocal groups of the Motown era.
