They were signed to Stax Records and later to Columbia Records, where they released several albums that garnered critical acclaim and commercial success.
The Emotions received a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group for their hit song "Best of My Love" in 1978. They have also been inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.
