Artist Bio:
The English Congregation was a British pop group active in the early 1970s. The group was formed by musicians Nicky Hopkins, Clem Cattini, and Herbie Flowers. Nicky Hopkins was a highly respected session musician known for his work with The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, and The Who. Clem Cattini was a renowned drummer who played on numerous hit records, while Herbie Flowers was a skilled bass player who also worked with various artists.


The English Congregation released their self-titled album in 1972, which featured a mix of original songs and cover versions of popular tracks. The album included their most successful single, a cover of the song "Softly Whispering I Love You," which reached the top 10 on the UK Singles Chart. Despite their brief time together as a group, The English Congregation left a mark on the music scene with their catchy pop tunes and talented lineup of musicians.
